Host Family accommodation
Most students choose to stay in a host family. It is exciting and rewarding to take part in the host country's and host family's culture, traditions and habits. You will quickly pick up words and expressions used in everyday situations.
A host family is the best way to stay if your students want to get insight into how a family leads their life in the country you visit. Your students will get a good opportunity to use the language every day together with their family and they will pick up expressions and nuances of the language fast. We see our host families as one of our most valuable assets and we often work with the same popular families year after year.
We have visited all the host families and after several years' cooperation they are used to taking care of our students. In each course town we also have a local family agent who stay in regular and personal contact with the families. It makes it easier for the representative to make your students settle properly during the summer and make sure that everything works as it should.
We select host families that are truly interested in making contact with youth from another country. Your students will eat all meals with their host family, except lunch. Since students are often out participating on excursions or other free time activities, and not always go directly home after the lessons, students will be given a packed lunch. The host families sometimes have children of their own who may be the same age as the students. Often the relationship between the student and family becomes so good that they keep in contact with each other in the future. Five days into each course, as well as after completed course, all participants get to fill in a questionnaire where they tell how they enjoy their stay in the host family. Our former students' judgement is naturally of great help to us in our work of finding good host families.
Can your students stay together with a friend?
Many people are hesitant to which alternative that is the best. They can stay together with a friend. Our experience tells us that students up to 16 years of age should stay with a friend. If your student is not travelling together with a friend from home, we will make sure that your students are placed with another language course student who shares the same interests. If your students would like to stay as the only nationality in our host families they must still count on a student from another country staying in the family at the same time.

"Staying in a host family is something I can really recommend, my English became more fluent and I dared speak more freely."
